Guns & Walkers Question

Postby rags » Fri Sep 30, 2016 11:36 pm

Found a neat walker I'd like to use, and I have a question about mounting a gun. The sample walker outlined in the Vehicle Templates has a light gun with the Fixed Forward modification, which states "This gun is operated by the driver/pilot and does not require any additional crew." On the one hand, this seems like a no-brainer since the small walkers don't have the room to carry a gun crew, but on the other hand, one could also make a case for an automated/computerized fire control system that simulates a gun crew without taking up the space.
So, my question: Is the Fixed Forward gun modification, or any other modification, required to mount a gun on a Size 1 walker?

Yes, a Gun requires a crew to fire.

Even if we wanted to imagine computer/robot controlled Guns, I'd say it still has to take one or more crew slots. In my opinion, this is inline with the pulp/dieselpunk/retro sci-fi vibe of our games.

If you're doing a more hard sci-fi setting. I think a no-space fire controls system might cost 3 points. Just have to playtest it and see how it worked.

Another option we have used on Size 1 Walkers is the Light Gun + Advanced mod combo.

Sounds perfectly reasonable and about what I figured...but it helps to have it verified.
Thanks!
