Uncontrolled Aircraft?

For discussing the vehicles rules....

Uncontrolled Aircraft?

In last night's game a pilot failed a Stunt and failed their Control Check. The Critical on the Random Challenge card meant the Pilot took the hits instead of his kite. He was Knocked Down...
At this point we treated the aircraft like any Uncontrolled Vehicle, moving it 1d6", then turning it in a random direction but leaving it at its current altitude (low).

The poor pilot failed his Recovery Check so at the start of the next turn we 'Wrecked' the plane, placing a 3" Burst 2d6" in a random direction from the aircraft's location.

Did we do this right?

Do you think adding 'Pilot' to the "Uncontrolled Vehicle" section on page 2 of GG&V would be helpful down the road?

Sounds like a good idea!

With regards to game rules, I think the words driver and pilot should be treated as interchangeable.

Driver interchangeable with Pilot / Operator is a concept we will reinforce with abundant aircraft antics from now on.

The crash of the Hawker Fury in our game was a classic moment. Everyone was satisfied with the result, even the chap who lost his pilot and aircraft. Also, OMG, STUNTS ARE COOL. We were a bit concerned about having so much stuff on a 3'x3' table; cars, trucks, aircraft and three Leagues... But it all worked out incredibly well. The Characters were still the dominant forces on the table while the aircraft and vehicles enhanced the story.

Best of all, our group now has a good grounding in all the important concepts and the fun that the Gadgets, Guns and Vehicles expansion brings to the game.
