Visiting Dignitary

Postby Whomever1 » Wed Oct 18, 2017 1:33 am

Trying out a new scenario. I was really trying to come up with one where Stealth would be more significant, but was only partially successful. It was played with the solo deck, which may have streamlined it a bit. Plus I didn't use the Stealth rule correctly, which pretty much invalidated the test. Oh, well, it was still fun.

I love a parade.
Great idea for a scenario...looks like it was fun to play.
Too bad the band was cancelled, though.

I'm a big proponent of the "Hammer Method".

Hit it until it does what you want!

I think it worked reasonably well, but I'm going to have to try it as a two player, rather than solo game. The interesting thing about it was that it was unclear to me where I should place a league along the line of march. Start too close to the beginning, and the dignitary will have moved on unless you can take him in one turn. And since the opponent can speed up the march by firing a gun or slow it down by sending out a minor, there could be a lot of jockeying for position. I think it's a little too subtle for the Solo Deck, especially since my right hand does know what my left hand is thinking.

Yep but that's what the dice & the solo deck are for Whom to stop your right hand knowing what your left hand is doing, at least that's how it works in my games.

Maybe we could give it a go on the Bay City table. I ran "The Hit," which is quite similar, on it as a solo game, and it worked fine: https://imgur.com/a/jL5Bt
