2017 Update

Postby Dave » Wed Jan 04, 2017 1:23 am

A new year has started so it must be time to add some new cards to the Phantom Agent list. And we have some really exciting free cards to share with our Phantom Agents in 2017! :D

The 2016 cards will be available for a very short time, so get your battle report or review sent in ASAP. Next Monday, all the 2016 cards will be removed from the website and then we will try to have the 2017 cards added within a few more days.

Thanks to all the Pulp Alley players that share their games and reviews. We appreciate your support! :-*

If you are not familiar with the Pulp Alley Phantom Agents promo, you can check it out here - https://store.pulpalley.com/
And please be sure to read and follow all the details and requirements. ;)

I REALLY want to get more active with this in 2017. It sounds like a great program...and a good kick in the backside to FINALLY get some reviews and AARs up that I'd been meaning to do anyway.

One of the fun new card types we're adding to the Phantom Agent list for 2017 are some Fortune effects that must be played as soon as the card is drawn.

When these cards are played, they add in some fairly minor effect that last for the rest of the scenario and can affect all players. Here's an example.....

That one is really interesting
It would make you think once or twice, or even more, before you fight someone.
Really interesting!
I think you would need a big deck to use this, as it shouldn't be in use every match.
I look forward to more in the same general spirit
One thought, if you have several different ones like this, is to only let the last one drawn count. I.e, the moment you draw another one the previous is discarded.
A way to balance these kind of cards and also to make everything a bit more unpredictable.

Interesting suggestion. THANKS!

From what we have seen so far, in a normal game, this sort of card makes it in to play less than half of the time - because it is slightly more likely that it will get flipped for a Peril, X value, Plot Point, or some of use. In which case the top portion of the card has no effect. So adding it to your deck doesn't mean it will get much play. :D
