We have been playtesting some new Solo and Horror cards to release this year.

As always, if you have any ideas/suggestions for new cards then please let us know.

Joe is so unhinged by the horror some alternate personality emerges from his subconscious. If he fails the challenge, all his stats except health change to that of a random member of his league. This card is attached.

For a horror card, something like Hallucinations would be cool.

Not sure how best to represent that, this is the first idea that came to mind though:
When this character attacks, roll a d6. One a 1-3 they attacked a phantasm and the fight is canceled, if they rushed, move them 1 inch away from the intended target.

I like both the previous suggestions...but why not go all the way and have the alternate personality be someone from the opposing league? Also, perhaps the Hallucinations effect should include something about trying to score random nearby items in the belief they are plot points?

Solo card suggestion:
Double Agent -- Play on nearest enemy, who takes the challenge given on the card. If he fails, his next activation is controlled by you. Repeat test after each activation -- card attaches until the challenge is passed or the card is removed by another effect.

Perhaps, but I think there is room for the card "That's so crazy it just might work!" where there was a chance the hallucination was an actual plot point--or at least a resource point.

Alternatively...have the personality stats be drawn randomly from a deck made of Pulp Alley Character cards? The character type determines which cards you randomly draw from.

I.e. if a Leader is affected by Split-Personality Disorder, then that character card is replaced by a randomly drawn Leader card.

(Of course this assumes that the players HAVE character cards. So having Whomever1's original text could be great for those without access to the character cards.)

Just a thought and adds value to purchasing/creating character cards.

Sort of related to both but mostly horror...
How about a deck of character cards of the standard monster archetypes?
Werewolf (2 cards human and were-form) both newly turned and older.
Vampire, new, older, ancient.
Skeletons, zombies, mummies, old ones, fishmen, etc...
The character cards are great for quickly setting up an opponent league for solo play.

Yes, the character cards, like the ones in Tomb of the Serpent, are very handy for this purpose in both solo and regular games. I'd like to see more of these as well, perhaps in different genres. Mercs, pirates, bandits, mythical creatures...lots of possibilities.

Running Amok Anyone within 3" of this character--friend or foe--is in extreme peril. However, the individual can still be targeted.
