What's the Quote?

Postby Dave » Fri Apr 28, 2017 3:56 pm

As you may well know, many of the Pulp Alley cards include a small bit of text that is unrelated to the rules. For example, somewhere on a card called Limping you may find, "That will slow 'em down." Sometimes this text comes from books or movies, and sometimes it comes from something said during playtesting and it just sticks.

We are close to completing 3 new card packs. So here's your chance to suggest some text for Pulp Alley cards. To help you out, I'll list the card titles below - although some may change....

Late to the party, but here's a few lines from some old movies...

Bad Break: Do I laugh now, or wait 'til it gets funny?

Despair: I couldn't hear my own footsteps. It was the walk of a dead man.

Staggering: A dead body is heavier than a broken heart.

Hidden Agenda: How could I have known that murder could sometimes smell like honeysuckle?

Reeling: There's a very good osteopath in town I'd like to see before I leave.

Bravado: My, my, my! Such a lot of guns around town and so few brains!

Take Control: I collect blondes...and bottles, too.

A few more from some film noir faves:

Well, if I'm not dead, you'll find me where I always am...in jail.

Killing is very personal. Once it gets started, it's hard to stop.

I'd rather be insane and alive, than sane...and dead.

If you ain't got socks then you can't pull 'em up, can you?

You'll never make big money. You're a two-bit guy.

Don't get cute. I'm just itching to work you over.

You look like you've been on a hayride with Dracula.
