Pistol Question

Postby ivor13 » Fri Jul 14, 2017 5:33 pm

Perhaps I'm overlooking it - I see modifiers for under 6 inches and over 24 - but is there a max range for pistols? Or can they essentially shoot across the table if line of sight is observed - what if your table is bigger than 3x3?
Thanks!

I think this answers your question:

OH, in Pulp Alley, close range is within 6" and long range is over 24". Some "weapons/abilities" may have a more limited range - just depending on how you make the character. We don't have a maximum range because we play on a 3'x3' table. If your table is over 36", then you may want to apply a maximum range.

Hope it helps.

Also, to represent someone that only has a short ranged weapon, you could give them the Short Range ability or a Pistol (weapon kit). Both limit the range to 12". Otherwise, you can assume they also have a longer ranged weapon handy.

And just so I'm 100% correct, when we are matching dice - am I matching the successes regardless of the die number showing or am I matching the actual success number showing on the die?

To cancel an opponent's die you must use one of your own dice that rolled an equal or greater number (showing on the die).

For example, a 5 can be use to cancel a 4 or 5. But it can not cancel a 6 or higher.

Remember, anything lower than a 4 can simply be ignored.

Also, remember that only 1 player can ever match dice during a single fight --
1. The attacker normally has control of matching - unless the defender chose to Dodge.
2. If the defender chose to Dodge then they have control of matching.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have other questions.
