Crash!

I drop by the forum this Monday morning and find nothing in the Current Topics heading. This is unacceptable, so I offer you a character worthy of your consideration, perhaps as a leader, or maybe an NPC. I speak of the living (once, anyway), breathing (ditto), real life (sort of) pulp hero, Crash Corrigan, the first American in Lemuria!

Crash built his own theme park and movie ranch:

This is what it looks like today:

Who is your favorite lesser-known pulp hero?

After due consideration, I realized that the character I read the most enthusiastically--probably when I was 9 or 10? Was Tom Swift Jr. He's a little late to be a pulp hero, but his father wasn't, and at one point I was collecting some of the original Tom Swift books. Here's a photo of the cover of his first adventure, 1910. It is perhaps a bit mundane sounding, but science (or at least engineering) was done, and evil thwarted.

Well, Tom Swift certainly qualifies as pulp -- here's another image for the jacket of your book:

Not to mention this one:

It'll never work.
I think TS jr. is also pulp -- the "pulp era" issue is a phony one.

Looks pulp to me.
